The course is a follow-up course to ISTQB Foundation. The course provides deeper understanding of test analysis and test design.
The course includes reviews and techniques for testing without insight to how the code has been written. You gain a large toolbox for handling complex systems with different quality characteristics. You develop your ability to apply techniques using the toolbox, which leads to cost effective testing work.
Upon completing the course, you should be able to:
- Carry out cost effective testing work focusing on functionality and usability testing
- Apply test techniques in different situations and contexts which suit the purpose
- Review and improve requirements for the IT solution being tested
Who should attend?
The course is suitable if you work with system testing, system integrations and acceptance testing and have at least three years of experience with test design and test execution.
Level and prerequisites
Certification in ISTQB Foundation Level is required for certification in ISTQB Test Analyst. The certification must be shown to the examination guard. A fee for certification will be charged.
Focus lies on applying theories in practice. The course contains many practical exercises based on scenarios from different types of industries and systems. Supplementary self-study is required to pass certification exam.

The course ISTQB Advanced Level Technical Analyst ends with a voluntary examination held at a later date. The cost for the certification is not included in the course fee. For course participants the fee is currently 3000 SEK excluding VAT. You can also sit for a certification examination without a course, in which case the cost is 3500 SEK excluding VAT.
