Kick-start to a professional life

For many university students, the arrival of summer means relaxation. Late night study sessions and stressful examinations come to a halt. Some will be hanging out on the beach or go hiking, while others are picking up momentum once more by attending System Verification’s internship. An opportunity that can lead to future employments. Our new interns Dalila, Emina, Medzida and Armin have an exciting summer full of new knowledge and inspiration ahead of them.

An internship is not only fun and rewarding, it also gives the students a head start when it’s time for them to look for jobs and begin their careers. When System Verification’s internship ends in October the interns have great opportunities to be offered employment at the company. The internship started on July 2nd and is being held at our Sarajevo office during three months. It is a paid internship and the interns will be working with an actual case. The student’s assignment is to develop System Verification’s internal web application that is handling the invoicing. They will be working both front- and back-end and eventually they will test everything that they have developed. The first couple of weeks will be educational, but for the remaining time the interns will work on their own, with full support from our team members. Medina Ovcina, Test Engineer and Project Manager for the internship, is excited to have the interns onboard:

“We have been working hard to plan and realize this internship and I’m happy to finally be able to welcome these four interns, whom we have carefully selected from all applicants. We have great hopes for these brilliant students.”

Mirza, Selma, Kenan and Medina from our Sarajevo office are responsible for the internship and will be guiding the interns.

Dalila, Emina, Medzida and Armin have already started to dig into their exciting assignment that they will be working on this summer.

Armin Mesan, a master student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at University of Sarajevo, is one of the participants of System Verification’s internship.

What made you apply for THE internship?

“I had heard great things about System Verification from some of my friends and after visiting the company’s website and social channels I decided to apply for the open job position, so I sent in my CV. Later I was contacted by Medina who asked me if I was interested to join their internship this summer, and I gladly accepted.”

What are your expectations with thE internship?

“I’m looking forward to having a great learning experience and spending time in an environment filled with people who are encouraging me to get better and at the same time helping me to achieve my goals.”

What are your plans after completing thE inteRnship?

“I will go back to university and work hard to finish my studies by the end of the year, and after that I plan to pursue a career within the software branch, hopefully within Quality Assurance or Development. I definitely think this internship will boost my chances to get to where I want.”

What are your impressions so far about the company, program and people?

“My impressions so far are very positive. System Verification has a high degree of professional standards and demands the same from its employees. The program seems very well thought-through, challenging and interesting. The people I’ve met are really friendly and encouraging and are always willing to help. I get the impression that it’s a driven company with a futuristic mindset, which I like, and it’s generally a very pleasant environment to be working in.”

Career within Quality Assurance

The best things about working at System Verification

Every year we conduct a survey among our employees to understand what they think about working here. What areas stand out? We went into the survey and found that 3 areas are particularly appreciated: Company culture, Image and Leadership. All of them score over 90%.

“A challenge to coordinate different goals”

Alexandra Elmer’s fascination for the logic of mathematics led her to study computer engineering. She also has a talent for leadership. Today Alexandra works as a Test Manager, a career combining expertise in software quality assurance with good communication skills.

Jens Johansson

“Being responsible for quality motivates me”

Jens Johansson planned to be a developer, but summer jobs and extra work as a tester at IKEA opened his eyes to software quality assurance. Today he works with test automation – a role that requires competence in both development and test.
